PSYCHO REALM

With the constant changing landscape in today’s music industry, few artists have managed to weather the storm and adapt to the unpredictable climate. One half of LA based group The Psycho Realm, Sick Jacken along with long time friend and rhyme partner Cynic have withstood the test of time and are ready to take on the challenge of today’s music playing field.

Because of their success with The Psycho Realm, Sick Jacken and Cynic respectively have been artist’s choice for countless collaborations and production services.
Their official intro to the solo world came in 2006 when they collaborated to give the world Terror Tapes 1. An album that allowed the two gifted MC’s to step away from the Psycho Realm sound everyone knew them for and test the musical waters on tracks most never thought they dared experiment with. In the end they shined on every track proving they can step outside their box and compete with the best MC’s out there.  They both then teamed up with Legendary Producer and founder of Cypress Hill, DJ Muggs to deliver DJ Muggs Vs. Sick Jacken “Legend Of The Mask & The Assassin” The album was released on their newly formed RMG label. It received critical acclaim as one of the best underground Hip Hop albums for 2007.  To date the album has sold close to 75,000 + units.

Sick Jacken has guest appeared on albums both in the rock and Hip Hop community, from producing for Blink 182 to appearing with P.O.D. and countless Hip Hop recording artists (see discography). In 2009 he released “Stray Bullets”, a body of work that consisted of various artist he collaborated with over the course of two years. Other highlights for 2009 included the second single off of DJ Muggs’ “Intermission” album titled “Classical”, featuring Evidence of Dilated Peoples.

He co-wrote, produced, & guest appeared on “Psycho Realm Revolution” for B Real of Cypress Hill’s solo release “Smoke ‘n’ Mirrors”, reminding true Psycho Realm fans the chemistry B Real and Jacken possess as a unit. His passion for producing allowed him to deliver one of the strongest songs on Cypress Hill’s 2010 album “Rise Up”. The song was titled “K.U.S.H.” He continued to deliver his brand of talent when contributing stellar verses on “Brujeria”, “Soldier Story”, and “Fuck Tony Montana” for La Coka Nostra’s 2010 highly anticipated release “A Brand You Can Trust”.

Cynic is a seasoned vet in his own right and has played a very intricate role in shaping the band’s unique sound. He has worked extremely hard over the years to prefect his style of artistry. When he’s not delivering thought provoking conscious lyrics his real strength lies in his Production. In 2005 he was responsible for producing “Tax Evaders”, “Cointelpro”, and “Time We’re Living In” on the Sick Symphonies album. One year later in 2006 on their critically acclaimed street album Terror Tapes I he produced the fan favorites “Children Of The Night”, Surprised I’m Alive” & “Sovereign States”

The next couple of years found Cynic being a hot commodity for hip-hop artist. That testament held true when he would lend his production talent on DJ Muggs 2009 Soul Assassins Intermission album with the red-hot “Meet Your Maker” album cut performed by Reef The Lost Cauze & Outerspace. In 2010 hip hop super group La Coka Nostra would come calling to utilize his services where he produced “Gun In Your Mouth” on their highly anticipated A Brand You Can Trust release.

At this present time, both Sick Jacken & Cynic continue to grow as artist and Producers releasing quality music into the marketplace that satisfies their loyal fan base’s hunger for their style of music. With a brand new album Terror Tapes 2” to be released in 2012, a collaboration album with underground heavyweight MURS, Solo Albums in both Spanish & English, producing music for outside artist, a flourishing merchandise line, and tours throughout the world look for Sick Jacken and Cynic to further progress the Psycho Realm brand and most importantly maintain a steady incline toward the road to success in both the Latino and American Hip-Hop Markets in 2012 and beyond.
