ARLINGTON, Va. – An online store of Hath’s Heroes products is now open at WashCaps.com/HathsHeroesApparel. Hath’s Heroes was founded by the Capitals forward Garnet Hathaway and his wife Lindsay to support first responders in the Washington, DC area. Proceeds from the store will be used for future programming and essential products for first responders in the DC area.
A Capitals and Hath’s Heroes co-branded t-shirt, hoodie, hat and mug are available for purchase. The store is open until April 30 at WashCaps.com/HathsHeroesApparel.
The Hathaways founded Hath’s Heroes in 2019 to give back to first responders. Garnet’s great-grandfather, Garnet Mcelroy, was a firefighter in Winnipeg, and his experiences inspired the Hathaways to start Hath’s Heroes.
More recently, Hath’s Heroes launched an unprecedented collaboration with the non-profit organization Conscious junkie to provide mindfulness training to first responders in the DC area. Through this partnership, Hath’s Heroes funds several Mindful Junkie seminars led by Mindful Junkie founder Gina Rollo White. The trainings will be made available to all DC Fire and EMS firefighters and will offer Tactical Brain Training® (TBT), which enables first responders to better manage work-related trauma.
Hath’s Heroes has also provided thousands of meals to first responders and families affiliated with area nonprofits during the COVID-19 pandemic. The Hathaways also provide tickets to select Capitals games to local first responders.
