There aren’t too many downsides to the increased interest in the Club, however, over the past few weeks we’ve seen genuine Wrexham merchandise offered for sale at multiples of the original sale price and, more worryingly, an increase in ‘unofficial’ products for sale bearing the Club crest.
Our message is clear, there is only one place to buy official Wrexham AFC merchandise and that’s through the Club, either in person at the Racecourse Ground store or online.
While there is nothing illegal about genuine Wrexham merchandise being sold by the people who purchased the items in the first place, not everyone can afford the prices sought.
We have 5100 home and away match shirts arriving before Christmas which will be available from £37.50 so the opportunity to own a shirt will be available again soon. Once these are gone, there will be no more and we will limit the quantities that individuals can buy, so as not to create a secondary market to exploit.
New stock and replacement lines are introduced weekly, so please keep checking for availability.
While the adage still holds true “if the counterfeiters aren’t interested, you don’t own any brand value,” it’s a problem that needs to be addressed. As such, the Club and our lawyers in the UK and US have initiated proceedings to put an end to this activity, to avoid fans mistakenly believing that their purchase benefits the Club or a source. official.
The Club’s retail operations have struggled to keep up with demand, without failing, but we understand that we need to be better and expand the range of products available to fans. More lines will arrive soon to meet increased interest at home and abroad.
